10 Dec 5 things you must stop doing if you want to create a beautiful life

Over the past years I picked up a few principals that I like to live my life by and I’ve learnt them because, well, I made the mistake of living them for so long! I hope these can save you a lot of time on your journey towards BEcoming the woman you know you were born to BE.

Here’s 5 things you must stop doing if you want to create a beautiful life:

1. Stop comparing yourself to other people and start comparing yourself to who you were yesterday.

Comparing yourself to other people will literally launch you in to living a life that’s true to the other person, but not you. The only person you need to compare yourself to is the person you were yesterday. If I find myself comparing myself to someone on social media, I unfollow them for a short while, just so I can get the chance to re-connect to my vision for my own life.

2. Stop hanging around with toxic people and start hanging around with people who raise you up.

This has been a super hard one for me to learn. Over the years I’ve had to walk away from friendships and even distance myself from family members. If you want to live a great life, you can’t hang around with people who are constantly pulling you down or draining you. I know it can be hard, but as Lisa Nichols likes to say, you can always come back for them.

3. You must stop living a ‘when’ life and start living ‘now’ life.

When Lisa and I were in a stick financial situation, we had this mentality where we would always say ‘when the debts gone we’ll do this’ or ‘when we have money, we’ll feel better’. The truth is you’ll always have problems you can cling on to to live a ‘when’ life. The key is to live life with a grateful heart. Instead of looking around and seeing what you haven’t got, you’ve got to train your mind to see what you have got. This will help you live in the present moment – which by the way is the only moment we truly have. In my 10 week programme; My Beautiful Life, we do a lot of work on gratitude because of this reason exactly.

4. You’ve got to stop neglecting your self care and start taking your self care seriously.

I see this so often, people focusing so hard on building their business or brand online (which is awesome by the way) but not so awesome if you’re just drained, tired and fed-up all the time. Your self-care should be one of your top priorities – and that includes getting a good nights sleep, getting enough exercise, having time to relax and socialise. I used to think celebrities and role models looked fantastic because they have money, I now realise they look fantastic because they know that if they want to achieve what they want to achieve, they must have a strong healthy body, natural energy, feel good about themselves and have a clear mind. Take your self care seriously, or it could catch you out!

5. Stop waiting and start doing.

This was a big one for me. Like WOW. I always had a vision that I would run world class retreats, work with inspiring women and create a platform online where women could connect and build communities. However, because I believed it so much, I kinda didn’t do anything….for years. I just thought it would happen. What I’ve learnt is that taking inspired action each day is so important – whether that’s a small action like thinking of the name of your future business or a bigger action like organising that first ever event you always wanted to organise. You have to take positive action towards your beautiful life each day – you’re the only one who’s going to make it happen!

I know some of these are quite overwhelming and I certainly know that a beautiful life isn’t created over night, however I really believe these are the key principals that have allowed me to get to where I am today and I hope they serve you as well as they have served me.

Sending you all so much love on your journey, I’d love to hear which principal resonates with you the most, let me know on Facebook or tag me in Instagram @AliceAllum
